When you create an Utiltag account, we collect your name, email address, business name, and account preferences. Payment information is processed securely through trusted third-party payment providers (such as Stripe) and is not stored on our servers.
Queue Data
When customers join your queue, we collect the information you choose to gather, which may include customer names, phone numbers, party sizes, and any custom fields you configure. This data is used solely to manage your queue and provide notifications. Queue entries are automatically deleted after they are completed or cancelled, based on your configured retention settings.
Analytics Data
We collect anonymous, aggregated analytics to power your queue dashboard. This includes metrics such as average wait times, peak hours, queue volumes, and service efficiency. All analytics data is fully anonymized and cannot be traced back to individual customers. This helps you understand patterns and improve your service without compromising customer privacy.
Technical Information
We automatically collect certain technical information when you use our service, including IP addresses, browser type, device information, and access times. This information helps us maintain security and improve the Service.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the queue management service
- Send queue notifications to your customers (SMS, email, or push notifications)
- Generate anonymous analytics for your queue dashboard
- Process payments and manage your subscription
- Communicate with you about your account and service updates
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and security threats
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Data Retention & Deletion
We believe in keeping data only as long as necessary:
- Active queue entries: Retained only while the queue is active
- Completed queue entries: Automatically deleted after your configured retention period (default: 24 hours)
- Anonymous analytics: Aggregated data is retained for reporting purposes but contains no personal information
- Account data: Retained while your account is active; deleted upon account closure and after any required retention period
- Payment records: Retained as required by tax and financial regulations
Data that is no longer needed for its original purpose is automatically deleted. You can also manually delete data at any time through your account settings.
4. Data Protection & Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
- All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL
- Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256 encryption
- Access to personal data is strictly controlled and limited to authorized personnel

For customers joining queues managed through Utiltag:

- Utiltag processes this data on behalf of the business to manage the queue
- Your data is used only for queue management and notifications
- Your queue entry data is automatically deleted after service completion
- You may contact the business directly to inquire about their data practices
8. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Maintain your login session and preferences
- Ensure security and prevent fraud
- Understand how our service is used to make improvements
You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Service.
9. International Data Transfers
Utiltag operates globally, and your data may be processed in countries other than where you are located. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with applicable laws, including standard contractual clauses where required.
10. Children's Privacy
Our Service is designed for business use and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided personal information, we will take steps to delete it.
